SCHOLARSHIP

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a community-conscious organization founded on the principles of scholarship. In honor of our late chapter member, Soror Darlene Lavern Hamilton, we offer an annual $1,000 scholarship to a deserving minority female high school senior in Henrico County. 

Soror Darlene “Doll” Lavern Hamilton graduated from Henrico Hich School and received a bachelor's degree from James Madison University. She was a champion for children and worked for the United Way and Friends for Children. 

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a minority female high school senior;

  • Must attend a high school in Henrico County;

  • Must exhibit personal integrity and excellence through academic achievement and community involvement; 

  • Must attend an accredited four-year college/ university; and

  • Must demonstrate a moderate to significant need for financial assistance in attaining her educational goals.

 Zeta National Educational Foundation

The Darlene Lavern Hamilton Scholarship

is operated in partnership with our national scholarship program, the Zeta National Education Foundation, Inc.   

The Zeta National Education Foundation annually provides financial assistance to worthy students pursuing higher education both at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels.  All scholarships are paid to the college or university and not directly to the student.

We encourage you to review the scholarship descriptions and eligibility criteria, as they are varied and open to a wide variety of individuals.
